Paskutinis SODAS 2123 ir Lietuvos tarpdisciplininio meno kūrėjų sąjungos įgyvendinamo projekto „Blossom v1.2“ renginys – menininkės Rūtos Spelskytės kūrybinės dirbtuvės „Žuvis, atsisukusi į pietus“.
Rūta Spelskytė: „Pradėsime nuo dvigubo drakono mazgo. Jis bus reikalingas magnetui pririšti. Magnetas bus reikalingas pasivaikščiojimui. Pasivaikščiojimo metu rinksime feromagnetinius akmenis. Juodus, šiek tiek žvilgančius, su kvailių aukso dulkėmis. Juos nešimės atgal į SODĄ2123 ir bandysime pamatyti, kuo jie skiriasi vieni nuo kitų ir taip pat nuo tų, kurie auga mūsų smegenų ląstelėse. Palyginimui atsinešiu akmenų, kuriuos rinkau Graikijoje prie Kentaurų kalno, iš po ledyno Islandijoje, potvynių skalaujamame Majo regione Airijoje, Kirunos kasyklos tunelyje, esančiame kilometro gylyje po žeme ir Aleknaičių kaimelio kelkraštyje. Bandysiu papasakoti, kodėl jie man atrodo ypatingi.“
Rūta Spelskytė yra menininkė, šiuo metu daugiausia dėmesio skirianti navigacijos būdams, žmogaus smegenų geologijai ir oktaedrinėms magnetito formoms. Ją domina instrumentai, kuriami ir naudojami remiantis tikromis ir išgalvotomis istorijomis, taip pat pojūčių sistemos, galimas jų treniravimas ir įsivaizdavimas, koks kitoks pasaulis yra arba galėtų būti.

The last event of the SODAS 2123 and Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association project “Blossom v1.2” – a creative workshop by Rūta Spelskytė, “A Fish Facing South”.
Rūta Spelskytė: “We will start with a double dragon knot. It will be needed to tie the magnet. The magnet will be needed for the walk. During the walk we will collect ferromagnetic stones. Black, slightly shiny, with fool’s gold dust. We will take them back to SODAS2123 and try to see how they differ from each other and also from the ones growing in our brain cells. For comparison, I will bring stones that I have collected in Greece at Mount Centaurus, from under a glacier in Iceland, in the flooded Mayo region of Ireland, in the tunnel of the Kiruna mine a kilometer underground and on the roadside of the village of Aleknaičiai. I will try to tell you why I find them fascinating.”
Rūta Spelskytė is an artist currently focusing on navigation techniques, the geology of the human brain and octahedral magnetite forms. She is interested in instruments created and used based on real and fictional stories, as well as sensory systems, their possible training and imagining how different the world is or could be.
